Knox County Veterans’ Service Officer Marty Qualkenbush is retiring at the end of January—and he wants his position to remain in-house. Qualkenbush is asking the Knox County Commissioners to name his assistant, Justin Jones, to fill his spor starting February first.
Qualkenbush knows the Commissioners have a lot of options. Part of the reason Qualkenbush wants Jones to take his spot is the fact Jones has “boots on the ground” in working with Knox County veterans.
The Commissioners want to name Qualkenbush’s successor as soon as they can. Action is possible as early as their next session Tuesday, January 20th.
