Vincennes Water Utilities officials are still putting together a likely rate increase, to be considered sometime later this year. If put in place, the increase would be the first for Vincennes Water Utilities customers in a decade.
V-W-U general manager Kirk Bouchis says one way to help figure the increase amount is to review bondable projects needed in the nears to come. Bouchie also notes another raise reason is to make a PILOT—or Payment in Lieu of Taxes—the City will require due to property tax cuts.
The utility is 100 percent owned by the City of Viincennes This would be the first PILOT required \by V-W-U officials; the total annual amount required is expected to be over a million dollars.
