The Knox County Commissioners have approved the promotion of Justin Jones as the new Veterans’ Service Officer. Jones was requested for the position by outgoing Director Marty Qualkenbush. Jones served as Qualkenbush’s assistant in recent years; Qualkenbush backed Jones as a very competent person to take the position. The Commissioners approved Jones as the new Veterans’ Service Officer unanimously.
The Commissioners have also approved Teresa Bays as the E-911 director. That appointment was approved unanimously, with a request from KellIe Streeter to consult with the E-911 Advisory Board on the issue in the future. Other appointments were approved with either no or limited objection.
