The Indiana Department of Education is inviting schools and community organizations to join the 2026 Summer Food Service Program. The program provides free meals and snacks to children 18 and under, focusing on rural areas and communities with many migrant farm workers.
Schools, summer camps, nonprofits, local governments, and churches can take part, often partnering to make sure kids get nutritious meals while school is out. Last year, nearly 200 sponsors served over 3.5 million meals at more than 1,000 locations, with many sites offering educational and physical activities.
