The Knox County Commissioners approved a set of emergency declarations at their meeting yesterday at Vincennes City Hall. The declarations were made due to the late January winter storm. The first was an o verall snow emergency decree on January 25th, along with various road emergencies on the 25th, 27th, and 30th. Currently, the County is under a yellow—or precautionary—travel advisory.
Knox County Commissioners president T-J Brink reported the late-January snowstorm dumped at least a foot of snow on Knox County—if not more. Brink is referring to the combined snow removal between the City of Vincennes Street Department, Knox County Highway Department, and INDOT. Brink also appreciates the snow removal work done by private snow movers as well.
Since the emergencies were approved outside of a normal Commissioners’ session, the Commissioners approved them retroactively at yesterday’s meeting.
