A winter storm, and bitterly cold temperatures, will put a strain on many heating bills this winter. One location assisting those in need is the Knox County Salvation Army.
County Salvation Army commander Joey Gates expects more requests to come in, with the most recent heating bills come due. The late-Janunary snowstorm dumped over a foot of the white stuff on the area, and stuck around—due to extremely cold temperatures following the event. The Salvation Army is a warming center during its business hours, but Gates believes only Troy Pickel’s First City Sunrise is an overnight warming center in Vincennes.
