Municipalities across Indiana will get some money back from expenses caused by the late January winter storm that hit the area. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says that is due to a declaration of Indiana as a federal disaster area during the storm, and through its aftermath. The Mayor also credits the uncredited work of community members in pitching in privately. Mayor Yochum also reminds everyone City department heads also helped with the snow removal.
Eligible government agencies can get up to 75 percent of its snow-related expenses reimbursed, due to the declaration. The relief will be a big help to areas affected by the foot-plus of snow they had to move during and just after the late-January snowstorm.
