James Franklin Lowery Jr., born on February 7th, 1975, in Oklahoma City, OK, passed away at the age of 51 on March 17th, 2026, in Vincennes, IN. Known for his kind heart and adventurous spirit, James’s departure leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
James, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, is survived by his loving wife of nearly 24 years, Krista “Ellis” Lowery. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Briana Lowery (Darryl Anderson) and Cody Ellis (Tamra Cummings), both of Vincennes, IN, and his stepson, Robert Ceely. James’s joy was magnified by his six grandchildren, who brought endless happiness and laughter into his life. Additionally, he leaves behind his sister, Robbie Lee Lowery, of Oklahoma, OK. James was preceded in death by his dear parents, James Franklin Lowery Sr. and Barbara Ann “Cooper” Lowery, and his sister, Myra Melissa Lowery.
Growing up in Oklahoma, James attended high school, where he first learned the value of hard work. He channeled that work ethic into a successful career as a truck driver for P & S Trucking, where he was known for his reliability and friendliness.
James was more than just devoted to his career; on April 23, 2002, he married his soulmate, Krista, in Oklahoma, OK. James was deeply admired for his ability to find joy in the everyday; he particularly enjoyed yard work, caring for his flower beds with tenderness and pride. He also held a passion for the outdoors, often going on hikes through the forest, embracing the peace and tranquility of nature. The digital world also piqued his interest, and he spent many joyful hours immersed in video games, engaging with diverse virtual landscapes and adventures.
James’s character was marked by his consistent kindness, a gentle hand, and a hearty laugh that could fill a room. His presence was a comfort to those who knew him, and his absence will be felt deeply. James Franklin Lowery Jr.’s story will be remembered as a celebration of a life lived and a reminder to cherish every moment.
