The Vincennes City Council has approved a rezoning for a set of coming homes in the planned Broadway Place subdivision. The rezoning will allow for multi-family housing units in that area.
The plan is for several duplexes to be built in the open space near 15th and Broadway. Vincennes City Council president Brian Grove believes the duplex plan is better for the City’s housing needs.
The business group Vincennes Sure-Clean is behind the development. Grove says the terrain made it a longer project to prepare the land for residential use.
Council passed the rezone on first reading. It will now go before the Knox County Area Plan Commission on Tuesday, April 7th, for their consideration. After the A-P-C gives their recommendation, it will come back to Council for final consideration.
