If you drive an electric car, you know long trips are hard without public charging stations. To fix this, INDOT started the Charging the Crossroads program. The program is getting feedback in meetings across Indiana; one of those was earlier this week at Vincennes University. Gary Bryan is the spokesman for INDOT’s Vincennes District. He says it addresses “charging deserts” where drivers can’t find a place to charge.
The program has already chosen 39 sites in Indiana for new charging stations.. Those sites will be within one mile of various major highways in Indiana. In this area, that includes U-S 41, Interstate 64, and Interstate 69.
