Joe Balagtas heads up Purdue’s Center for Food Demand. He says grocery prices in the last four or so months in 2024 have not been rising. But, he says you should not expect prices to fall back to pre-pandemic levels, if at all. Many economists say that “deflation” would indicate a significant problem with the economy.
