The Vincennes Board of Works has approved a memorandum of understanding with the Knox County Chamber of Commerce. The agreement gives the Chamber 250-thousand dollars for a downtown development coordinator.
The coordinator would be a Chamber employee, but would also be responsible to the City of Vincennes. The position includes improving the downtown area, and working toward state and federal recognition of that area for Main Street status.
The donation comes from the City’s HELP dollar designation. The Board of Works approved the funding unanimously.
