Tomorrow marks a week left to groundbreaking of the Agro-Renew Plant on Elkhorn Road in the U-S 41 Industrial Park. The 83 million dollar plant will be designed to take farm pruduce waste and turn it into bio-plastics.
The idea took root at the Pantheon Business Theater. Pantheon spokeswoman Carrie Lane says the smallest of discussions turned into a large project. From that chat, the plans were laid for the expansive project. Lane says the time frame from idea to groundbreaking reality was relatively short– about a year to a year and a half after the initial discussions.
Next month, Agro-Renew officials will start earnestly seeking workers to start with the plant, once it starts up.
