The Knox County Sheriff’s Department reminds everyone to watch for scammers trying to use the Department to steal money from un-suspecting people. One method has been by requesting payment by gift cards to avoid arrest.
Knox County Sheriff’s Major Mike Fisher knows technology can be great– but it also can be a breeding ground for scam attempts. Fisher reminds everyone if you get a call like that, call them– since it is better to be safe than sorry.
