The Knox County Community Kitchen is in its ninth month of helping people create good, tasty, healthy meals. The effort is overseen by the Knox County Public Library, and is centered in the kitchen of the Vincennes Fortnightly Building. That is located at Sixth and Seminary streets.
Tiffany Maranaka heads up the Community Kitchen project. She says the key is to educate the community in proper food preparation. Maranaka says part of the process is cutting down on an increase in processed foods.
Various classes are available, both at the Fortnightly Club, and in the community outside the building’s walls. More information on coming Community Kitchen events is available through the Knox County Public Library.
