The Knox County Health Department says it has been notified by Versiti Blood Center of Indiana that the state now has an emergency blood shortage.
With less than a day’s supply of available blood, communities throughout the state face a potential crisis as hospitals do not have the blood needed to treat patients.
The Knox County Health Department is partnering with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana for its first community blood drive this Thursday from 8:45 am -11 AM in the parking lot of the Bierhaus Building at 328 North 2nd Street in Vincennes.
