The girls high school basketball season officially gets underway today in the Hoosier State.
The Regular Season opens up on November 5th for Vincennes Lincoln when the Alices play host
To Sullivan. North Knox tips off its first game on November 8th at home against Washington. Rivet
And South Knox begins on November 9th. The Patriots open up at Evansville Harrison while the
Spartans are at home against Evansville North.
The Meet the Lady Alices Pancake Breakfast will be this Saturday morning from 8 until 11 at
Adams Coliseum. Cost is five dollars per ticket. Carry Outs will be available.
The South Knox boys will now get ready for Saturdays Cross Country Regional after finishing Second
At Saturdays Jasper Regional. Also advancing on an individual basis were Brody Francis and Gage
Williams of Vincennes Lincoln and Carlton Arms of North Knox.
No Knox County Girls team advanced to the Regionals. However, moving on an individual basis were
Eva Claycomb, Emma Telligman, Rorri Bottum and Abbigayal Urbain of North Knox, Sara Nowaski, Alli Hayden and
Ana Smith of South Knox and Megga Luchtefeld of Vincennes Lincoln.
The Volleyball Regional finals are set for next Saturday.
At Loogootee…. Two One- A Titles will be decided. The host Lions will face Christian Academy of Indiana
at 4pm. At 7pm, Shakamak will take on Springs Valley.
At Mitchell…A 2-A Regional final has Barr-Reeve playing Pekin Eastern at one. At 4pm…It’s a 3-A battle
Between Evansville Memorial and Silver Creek.
Turning to Jennings County…At one it’s a 2-A Regional Final between Brownstown Central and Tecumseh.
At 4pm…Jasper will face the host school for a 3-A Regional Championship.
Finally at Bloomington North…at Four it will be a 4-A battle between Castle and Franklin Community. All
Winners will move onto the four team semi-state the following Saturday.
