The finish line is in sight for the re-opening of Washington Avenue from Kelso Creek to Emison Avenue. The season-long p roject is the first part of an eventual two-phase project to improve Washington Avenue from Belle Crossing to Saint Clair Street.
Vincennes City Engineer John Sprague says the long-awaited final surfacing of that part of Washington Avenue is coming together. Sprague reminds everyone after surfacing is finished, there will be a couple of more items left to complete.
The affected stretch of Washington Avenue has been under a season-long closure for the detailed improvement project.
