Some second graders took a reading and nature-based trip to southern Daviess County earlier this week. The trip was to the property of Franklin principal Melissa Pancake and her husband, Alan.
The trip centered around a hiking trail on the property– complete with signs posted with the words of two books along the trail. The books were titled “The Bone Wars,” and “Penelope Rex.” The nature part of the field trip went with the students’ studies about changing seasons. The idea is to spend time in nature, while combining movement and the enjoyment of reading.
