The area has been plagued in recent months with various scams involving law enforcement in various area counties.
Knox County Sheriff’s Department Major Mike Fisher reminds everyone they would never ask for money– and especially gift card payment– over the phone. Fisher also requests people getting these types of calls to contact law enforcement first before taking any action.
Further, when it comes to scams involving warrants, Department officials remind everyone they will never call anyone regarding arrest warrants.
