Lawrence County Illinois has retained Jim Calvert as its Emergency Management Agency director. Calvert had submitted a letter of resignation to the Lawrence County Board; however, at the Board’s latest session, he asked to rescind the resignation. The Board approved his request to stay on the job.
Also, the Lawrence County Board has moved a million dollars from their wastewater fund into their general fund. The move came due to a surplus in funds from the Lawrence County Correctional Center’s wastewater account.
County officials hope to use the extra funding for building and grounds improvements at the Lawrence County Illinois Courthouse.
