The United Way of Knox County and the Red Skelton Museum joined together to give a thousand dollars for the Knox County Salvation Army’s Toy Store. The gift is for purchase of toys for those young clients served by the county’s Salvation Army.
United Way of Knox County director Mark Hill says the gift is a legacy of Red Skelton giving back to his native Vincennes neighborhood.
Hill says the United Way of Knox County is the caretaker of funds raised by donations to that particular account.
The toys from the Salvation Army’s Toy Shop will be part of a Christmas-related distribution coming in December.
