Hoosiers are expected to spend millions combined on Christmas gifts this year overall, and economists like Phil Powell at IU, say al indicators are pointing to a strong benefit to the Indiana economy.
Powell said on Inside Indiana Business consumer spending has been strong of late, which leads to higher demand, thus more products being manufactured in Indiana. He also says falling inflation certainly helps too. But, he believes, the economy could be changed, looking ahead possible increased tariffs being proposed by President-elect Trump.
