The Knox County Salvation Army is headlong into its busy season, preparing for Christmas. The two biggest endeavors for the Salvation Army is the annual kettle campaign, and preparing for Christmas meal and toy giveaways.
Knox County Salvation Army commander Joey Gates says it is even more difficult this year, she he and his wife Pamela got to Vincennes midway through this year. Among the recent business was packing the Christmas meal packages for giveaway soon. Gates says that has been the latest Salvation Army focus among many others.
Another major focus is the annual Salvation Army kettle campaign. The seasonal fund raising campaign is important, since your donations help fund the group’s assistance campaigns for the rest of the year.
