Memorial to 1977 U-E Plane Crash Set for Friday

The University of Evansville will hold a memorial service Friday on the 47th anniversary of a tragic plane crash on December 13th, 1977.
A chartered plane crashed at 7:22 p.m., just 90 seconds after taking off from Evansville’s Regional Airport.
The crash claimed the lives of men’s basketball Coach Bobby Watson, 14 players, 11 team friends, and a five-member crew.
Friday’s services will be held at noon Central Standard Time at Memorial Plaza, located directly behind the Olmsted Administration Hall on the UE campus.
