The Knox County Sheriff’s Department is keeping watch over the area roads and residents during any possible snow and cold to come. A brutally cold and snowy mid-January has been met with proper response by the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s Department Major Mike Fisher says common areas of standing water are also common areas for road deputies to patrol more often in the winter. Another problem is with slide-offs on state and federal highways—especially during heavy snowfall events. Fisher tells us the Sheriff’s Department works with INDOT to treat the areas needing it most.
As for the most recent heavy snow event, Sheriff’s deputies say other than a few slide-offs, accidents were at a minimum.
