A Greene County home was destroyed by fire Sunday night. The Eastern Greene Fire Territory says firefighters were called to the 2000 block of State Road 45 South around 6:00 PM. Flames were coming from the roof of the structure which consisted of two attached single-sided mobile homes with an addition on the back.
The fire started at the south end of the second mobile home where a heater was being used to thaw frozen water lines under the house. The homeowner advised that she did not have insurance.
The Red Cross is assisting the family with immediate needs. Also, community members are asking for items to help the family.
