Both the City of Vincennes and Knox County may be forced to adopt a “wheel tax” to get state Community Crossing Matching Grant paving funds. There is a measure that, if approved, would tie those benefits into a mandatory wheel tax.
The wheel tax is for each vehicle your register through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. In past years, County officials have considered a wheel tax for County vehicle owners. However, to this point, no wheel tax is in effect in Knox County.
