The State of Indiana awarded more than $200 million in Community Crossings matching grants Thursday for local road and bridge projects across 245 Indiana cities, towns, and counties.
Knox County got the maximum of one and a half million dollars. Also, in the county, Oaktown received over $82,000, and Wheatland got just shy of $75,000. Daviess County received over $1.1 million while Washington was awarded over $260,700.
Other areas getting assistance include Shoals , who received a grant of over $271,000; Shelburn received nearly $253,000; Merom received nearly $25,000.
Pike County received a grant of nearly $1.5 million dollars, Martin County received over $1.1 million, and Sullivan County also got $1.5 million. The funding was approved by the Indiana Department of Transportation.
