A controversial home-school registration bill has failed to get enough votes to pass in the Illinois Legislature. The bill would have required home-school teacmers to be registered with the State of Illinois, among other requirements.
Area Illnois State Representative Adam Niemberg opposed the bill. He calls it dead for now—but isn’t ruling out a re-born bill next month. However, Niemberg reports another school-related bill he opposes did pass the Illinois House,
If passed, the Native American School Teams Bill would affect any Illinois school who uses Native American-based team names or school mascots.
