The Vincennes Lincoln Alices got a complete game pitching performance out of Paxton Smith in an 8-0 win over the North Knox Warrirs at Hill Field. Colton Wonning led the way with a dtriple for the Alices, while Luke Hall scored a double as part of the vhctory. Braxton Yenne took the loss for the Warriors; he also had three of North Knox’s fur hits on the evening. The other was a double from tyler Clark. The Warriors had their chances, but stranded 10 men in the game.
LHS goes to 11-2 on the year; they are scheduled to play Castle on the road this afternoon. North Knox is now 1-7; they are set to play Rivet tomorrow afternoon at home.
Speaking of Rivet, they defeated Mount Vernon 3-1 at St. Vincent Field. Nash Ransom got the win for the Patriots. Henry Holka came up with the game winning run on a single for the Patriots.
The Lincoln softball team got a nine run third inning en route to a 13-1 win over South Knox. The Alice effort was boosted by a three-run homer from Emma Cunningham. Olivia Lange got the win for LHS; Kenna Rehwald took the defeat for South Knox.
The South Knox tennis team defeated Evansville Christian 5-0. The Lady Spartan winners were Alli Hayden, Grace Arnold, and Reagan Harrington. Doubles winners were Caroline Beard and Grace Carie, and Elaina Watjen and Emily Dreiman. The South Knox tennis team moves to 10-1.
In middle school sports:
Thd Rivet Middle School Tennis team lost 5-0 to Barr-Reeve.
The North Knox girls won a five-way track meet between themselves, Loogootee, White River Valley, North Daviess, and Shakamak. Kendal McGuier took first place in three events, while with Zoey Chambers winning in two. Other North Knox winners were Clair Dinkins, Jovi Murphy, and Brynlee Mason. The North Knox 400 and 1600 meter relay teams were also victorious.
