The Indiana Economic Development Foundation has spent over $13 million on travel, administrative expenses, and other costs over six years, as revealed in audited financial reports released under Governor Mike Braun’s orders.
The foundation, tasked with raising private funds for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, is currently under a spending freeze.
The Indiana Capitol Chronicle reports that records show a significant portion of the funds went towards travel, meals, and entertainment, with little transparency on donor identities.
The foundation’s ties to the IEDC and lack of transparency in donor information have sparked further investigation and calls for accountability.
