David Shelton Running Again for State Secretary of State Position

Knox County Clerk David Shelton is planning another run for the office of Secretary of State in Indiana. Shelton has announced his candidacy in a notice earlier this week.
This is Shelton’s second try for the Republican nomination for Secretary of State. He lost out in the 2022 state convention to current Secretary of State Diego Morales.
In his announcement, Shelton criticized Morales for “mismanagement. He also claims he “spent his career building credibility, not burning it.” In his first time trying for office, Shelton picked up just under 20 percent of the vote in a four-way race.
