Action got underway in the girls high school softball tournament. At the Linton 2-A Sectional, North Knox saw its season come to an end, as Sullivan defeated them 11-10. The Lady Warriors trailed 11-5 after five innings, but came back to score five in the final two innings, and had the tying run on base, when the game ended. Baylee McClure and Javen Miller had homers for the Warriors, while Mylee Vandeventer had two on the game for Sullivan.
In other action last night, Gibson Southern defeated Southridge 3-2
In game one yesterday at Gibson Southern, Jasper shut out Princeton 15-0.
Also at Clay City the host Eels defeated Cloverdale 2-0. Finally at Loogootee, Orleans took out Barr-Reeve 6-5.
IN softball action tonight:
Sullivan is in action tonight against West Vigo. Also last night, the Linton Lady Miners defeated Eastern Greene in game 2. 7-2. South Knox plays Linton at 7:45 tonight and you can hear the game on WUZR 105.7fm.
At the Gibson Southern Class 3-A Sectional, the Lincoln Alices take on the host Titans in game two at eight. You can hear that game on WZDM 92.1fm. That is in game 2; game 1 pits Washington versus Jasper.
At Clay City:
Bloomfield will play Shakaman, while North Center faces White River Valley. Clay City moves to the first semifinal, where the will play Dugger Union.
At Loogootee: North Daviess takes on Loogootee, and Shoals battles Orleans.
Finally, at Wood Memorial, it is Springs Valley taking on Cannelton, and Wood Memorial battling Northeast Dubois.
