Knox County Sports Roundup for Friday

The South Knox Baseball Spartans came close, but could not pull off the victory, as the Linton Miners defeated the Spartans 7-5 in 8 innings. The Spartans were led by two runs batted on by Evan Hartwick, and one each from Maverick Benjamin and Tate Staggs.
South Knox ends the season at 8-17.
Weather allowing, the Rivet Patriots are scheduled to play tonight at the North Daviess Sectional against the Orleans Bulldogs. Orleans won their way their match up with Rivet by defeating Shoals 12-0. That game starts tonight around 7:30; in game 1, North Daviess will face Loogootee.
The Vincennes Lincoln track team was 15th in the 1600 meter relay at the Evansville Regionals. The result placed the Alices 15th among teams participating in the track and field meet.
