The Indiana General Assembly is praising its work to help support K to 12 education statewide. While many other departments were taking at least five percent decreases, the General Assembly was able to increase spending for education through high school.
Jasper State Senator Daryl Schmitt also helped craft a bill to give a bit of a boost for teachers starting their careers in Indiana’s classrooms.
The largest cuts came to the Indiana State Department of Health. That group will lose around 60 percent of its budget in the new fiscal year.
