A crowd estimated at over 200 came to Patrick Henry Square over the weend as part of a nationwide “No Kings Day” protest. The event features a peaceful protest with speakers and signs opposing the Trump Administration.
The Vincennes event was sponsored by the Knox County Democrat Party. Party chairwoman Marsha Fleming believes the rally brought a free speech element to a mainly rural area. Fleming also knows regardless of general opinion, she is happy a good group of people can air their grievances in an open assembly.
The event was entirely peaceful, much like a similar protest held in the summer of 2020 at Patrick Henry Square. That protest concerned the similarly national protest caused by the death of George Floyd.
