Ground has been broken for the new Bierhaus Flats subdivision. The 13-acre, 240 unit housing complex will be built on the south side of Bierhaus Boulevard, between Hart Street and State Road 61.
Bierhaus Flats is a project of the group “Simplified Development” as a move to add husing stock to Knox County. However, Knox County Indiana Econimic Development Corporation director Chris Pfaff says the housing problem is more complex than just building this complex. Pfaff also believes the process toward fully solving the County’s housing problem could take the better part of a decade.
As for Bierhaus Flats, work is expected to be rather rapid, if conditions allow. Pre-leasing is expected to begin in the third quarter of this year, with the first move-ins
