The doubles team of Caroline Beard and Grace Carie were named IHSAA Second Team All-State in tennis. The doubles team was also an All-District selection for District 7; and finished 23-3 and as a state finalist this year. Caroline Beard ends her career with an 82-12 record, while Carie went 72-7/ Beard is second in wins in South Knox history, while Carie is third.
The Southern Indiana Athletic Conference will be well-represented this weekend at Victory Field, as three SIAC teams will play for baseball state titles.
IN 2-A, the Mater Dei Wildcats will face Boone Grove for a state title, after winning the Semi-state 8-0 over Clarksville Providence. IN 3-A, the Jasper Wildcats will face Andrean for the championship; they defeated Guerin Catholic 6-0 Saturday night to advance. Finally in 4-A, the Evansville North Huskies defeated Center Grove 7-1; they face Valparaiso for the 4-A state title.
