(Citco—Schott abatement)(Tuesday 6/25/25 … tlz 6a)
The Vincennes City Council approved a preliminary tax abatement last night for a fourth production line for Schott Industries.
Abraham Ramsey represented Schott at last night’s session. He says the new line is needed to meet its production goals, Ramsey also believes the abatement will lead to a positive outlook for Vincennes,
A public hearing will be set before the abatement is up for final approval. The abatement will be for five years, and cover just onder two million dollars in equipment. If approved, the abatement would be gradual—with 20 percent of the equipment becoming taxable each year for five years.
