Knox County EOC Bid Opening Reset for 11 AM Monday

The coming Knox County Emergency Operations Center’s bid opening is planned for Monday of next week. The Knox County Commissioners will open the bids in a special session to be held that morning at eleven a-m at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. The office is at 2325 Old Decker Road. The original schedule for for a nine a-m start, but it was moved at the request of engineering firm R-Q-A-W.
The bid opening is the next step for an Emergency Operations Center, to be placed on the former Poor Farm property near Hart Street Road. The building would become the home for various emergency departments—including Knox County Central Dispatch. Currently, the Central Dispatch is located in the former Knox County Jail building, across from the Knox County Courthouse. June 30th’s bid opening is open to the public.
