Nearly Two Million Expected on Indiana Roads This Weekend

Triple-A estimates that 1.9 million Hoosiers will travel at least 50 miles over the Fourth of July holiday period, with the majority opting for road trips. The travel forecast includes two weekends to better reflect holiday travel trends.
Summer gas prices, which are the lowest since 2021, have contributed to a 2.7% increase in Hoosier travelers. Nationally, a record 72.2 million people are expected to travel for the Independence Day holiday, surpassing pre-COVID travel numbers.
