A concerted effort is on to improve the quantity and quality of Knox County’s housing stock. The housing is needed to give those who work in Knox County but commute from other places a better chance to live near where they work.
The Knox County Indiana Economic Development Corporation is spearheading the ho using drive. K-C-I-E-D director Chris Pfaff says with growing communities comes more business. In fact, Pfaff says Knox County’s population peaked 65 years ago, in 1960.
The county’s biggest development in recent years—Bierhaus Flats—is now under construction, with other smaller projects also in the pipeline. However, officials across the county warn that a lot more is needed to reverse the trend of declining population in Knox County
