Vincennes City Council has cleared the final hurdle toward Schott Industries’ request to secure a five-year abatement. The one-point-eight million dollar abatement covers equipment for a new line Schott will install at its facility in northern Vincennes.

The abatement is a full tax break for the first y ear. After that, the abatement will drop by 20 percent per year, until the equipment gets fully taxed in the sixth year.
