Work continues on the new basketball court at Lester Square Park in Vincennes. The project was funded by a matching Patronicity grant, spearheaded by the Vincennes group Rotary Young Leaders.
Allie Bobe was among those heading the fund-raising campaign. She is glad she could help the Vincennes Parks Department install the new court. Bobe also knows even though the project isn’t done yet, it will be in the months to come.
Patronicity grants allow non-profit groups who raise 50-thousand dollars or more for a specific cause to get a 60-thousdand dollar state match. Another successful Patronicity grant recipient this year in Vincennes was Old Town Players. O-T-P was raising the funds for repairs to their playhouse at Fifth and Broadway.
