In Knox County, today starts school for students at North and South Knox School districts. Vincennes Community and Vincennes Catholic School students return on Thursday. North Daviess Schools students will head back to class first in Daviess County today, with the three remaining Daviess County corporations starting tomorrow.
With school underway today, drivers need to be on the lookout for school buses dropping off or picking up students and knowing when to stop. Also, if a school bus stops on a two-lane road and the red flashing lights are activated, and the stop arm is extended, all motorists must stop. The same rule goes for all traffic on four-lane roads with no median or center divider.
With the start, of school, law enforcement will be out to monitor both stop-arm violations, as well as speed limits in various school zones across the area.
