It’s back to square one for the proposed Knox County Emergency Operations Center. On a two-one vote, the Commissioners rejected all current bids for the Center’s construction, since they came in over a million dollars over the County’s 2.3 million dollar budget.
During the session, Commissioners’ president T-J Brink said even with an allowable 20 percent project reduction, the Center is still well over budget. Commissioner Kellie Streeter cast a vote against rejecting the bids. She stated her view that something has to be done about the issue.
Following the bids’ rejection, the Commissioners now must consider what—if anything—should be done on the project in the future.
