A November fourth trial date has been set for 32 year-old Dylan A. Smith. Smith is accused of murder in the shooting death of 30 year-old Taylor Hendershot. The shooting happened in the parking lot of Cardinal Liquors on Sixth Street in Vincennes.
The shooting allegedly happened when Hendershot was in her vehicle and was shot by Smith. Smith was found a short time later at a location in the 800 block of Carbon Street, where he holed up before police finally took him into custody. The two had been in a prior relationship, and had a chlid together.
Smith had his initial hearing in person yesterday afternoon before Judge Monica Gilmore in Knox Circuit Court. The next set hearing is a pretrial conference set right now for October ninth. He is being held without bond in the Knox County Jail.
