September 15th is the first official day for allowed negotiation for teacher contracts for coming years. In preparation, the North Knox School Board held a public hearing Monday for that upcoming negotiation.
The Board, and Superintendent Darrell Bobe, will discuss the new contract with the North Knox Teachers’ Association. Bobe claims both sides know this will not be a good financial year for the Corporation.
Bobe also credits the teachers’ group for being reasonable in negotiations past—and sees no reason why that won’t continue into this year.
Following the September 15th start date, both sides will come together to negotiate the best contract possible for both sides.
