Knox County’s latest state paving grant application was submitted yesterday to the Indiana Department of Transportation. The application is for the newest round of Community Crossing Matching Grant—or, C=C-M-G—dollars from the State of Indiana.
Knox County will look for the maximum amount again this year. Knox County Commissioners’ president T-J Brink emphasizes those dollars are vital for areas like this one.
For this round, the maximum amount will go back down to one million dollars. At this time, state officials have also tied future preferred C-C-M-G funding to counties that have a wheel tax. Knox County is one without a wheel tax in place; Knox County Council members are expected to at least discuss one sometime next month.
